Winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Fluid Separations 2011

Dr.-Ing Constantin Frerick, Germany is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Fluid Separations 2011 His PhD thesis entitled "Rigorous Modelling, Simulation and Evolutionary Optimisation of Generic Protein Downstream Processes", completed in 2009 at the Technical University Dortmund under the supervision of Professor Andrzej Górak, was found to be of the highest quality of all the five entries in terms of breadth and depth of the thesis, innovation, industrial relevance, dissemination of results, innovation, and scientific impact of the work.

Dr.-Ing. Constantin Frerick obtained his diploma and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University Dortmund, Germany. He is currently working for Bayer Technology Services, Leverkusen, Germany, in the Process Analysis competence center.

The award will be presented on 28 September 2011 in Berlin, Germany, during the session "Innovative separation technologies - Membrane separations I" of the 8th European Congress on Chemical Engineering.
